are you telling me that even after 30 pages (many pages which consist of elementary tutorials) there are still some that have not been able to correctly make a backup?

There are morons here starting new Saw 3 threads, with not enough intelligence to search forum for Saw3 threads. It is no wonder they can't back up this now easy movie.

That's hilarious, considering the first thread on the page is "Can't Copy Of Saw 3".

slickflix , remember using memorex is like rolling the dice. they may code out as Ricoh a few time then you may get a batch that code out as CMC mag which is bad news. so using Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim your sure of what you are getting everytime

aabbccdd, you read my mind. Between all the research I did regarding "Saw 3", It immediatly became clear in my head that Memorex had to go. Furthermore, I've already decided that the next batch of DVDs I buy will be Verbatim... as I'm pretty sure I can find them at most local electronics stores. I'm hoping my current issue with Saw 3 (won't open the menu on my XBOX, have to skip a chapter ahead after it loads) is a Memorex problem.

With it being the Ricoh-Memorex, I doubt media being your problem.
Here's some media manufactured by CMC. Note Memorex isn't the only one. It's mostly the older 8X shown here, but it goes to show that Memorex isn't the only company that sold/sells CMC manufactured media. Memorex just found a better following on the forums. It may have been the catchy "Memosux" catch word. Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending CMC. I got some dodgy Memorex myself. I'm just saying Memorex wasn't the only one. Guess I'll have to spend some of my lunch money and buy some of "today's" CMC and see if they've improved. CMC is still being sold and by brands besides Memorex.

YES!!!! Finally I got it!! I just used DVDClone with AnyDVD and booyaa!!! Full disc working copy. Just wondering though, that was the first time I used DVDClone and the quality didn't seem like it was quite all there, at least compared to when I use DVD Shrink. Is there some setting I should have changed? I just left everything set as they are when you first open it.

LOL... I agree with you buddy -- I couldn't have said any better than you.
I'm done with "SAW 3 UNRATED EDITION" (at least 2 weeks ago) and I'm not going to look back on this thread. I guess some people (especially) newbies will never learn a damn thing, all I hear from them are; "I can't backup this, I can't backup that, I'm having problem ripping this/that, etc." Unfortunately, the sad thing is, sometimes those movies are not even released until another week or 2, yet threads just poping left to right. Apparently, this is starting to get extremely annoying or should I say "ridiculous."
At times, even the great DVDFab Decrypter or AnyDVD from SlySoft needed to get their hands on the original copy of the DVD so they can analyze those damn IFO, then updated their softwares.
Evidently, I'm sorta tired of trying to help clueless newbies (them lazy folks, especially those just want a short/easy answer, but never tried to learn a damn thing) regardless if tons of guides were provided or not. That being said, just take a look at the "DVD Shrink forum", now it's filled up with tons of useless threads.
Best of luck to all and happy burning!!

You can also set CloneDVD to DVD+/-R DL setting and burn to hard drive folder. You can run this through DVDshrink and get a little better quality. I've found that sometimes DVDshrink won't shrink the resulting file. I've solved this by running it through VobBlanker before shrink and shrink would work OK. FixVTS might work for this also. Actually,I've been using VobBlanker for most of my hard to rip movies. With AnyDVD running in the background I let VobBlanker rip it to a folder on the hard drive. I then use FixVTS and then Shrink. I've found that if I use the Ripit4Me method AnyDVD will still see invalid VOBUs in the resulting DVD although it will play OK. VobBlanker removes these and I don't have to shrink quite as much.

I also agree totally !!! I AM a newbie, this is only my 2nd post, but some people just don't seem to get the idea to read the threads and find their answer before asking the same questions that have already ben asked...AND ANSWERED many times from the seasoned members. There must have been a dozen different ways to backup S3 UR, Open Season, etc. provided by the knowledgeable ones here. Just listen to what they tell you and follow the guides given. I'm just a 60+ old fart who is new to this stuff, but hey, I found my solutions here without any problems. Fellow newbies...relax and take in all the good info they are giving you.
A word of advise from me. Read all the pages of the thread when you get the time. I learned alot of OTHER stuff from these guys not just related to backing up some difficult titles. There is alot here for you, use it.

Yes, I was a newbie once, but I recalled I was a newbie with knowledge (advanced user). I don't asked stupid (useless) questions over and over -- matter of fact, I've NEVER, NEVER and NEVER asked a single question on how to rip and burn a movie. So before your going to talk shit to me or the names you've labelled above, think twice before you proceed.
I'm here to help out those who are willing to listen, follow, learn and soon they're on their own, NOT those idiots and clueless lazy retarded that keep on repeating asking the same damn question every Tuesday.
It's sad but true, your simply another ignorant, retarded newbie on the block. Get a life dude, you're crying like a 3 yrs old kid without milk to eat.

granted the urclone dude or whatnot is an ass, but i only had to agree with one thing, not all newbies are knowledgeable.when i first came here to this site, i had no clue what i was doing, granted, you are right as well in that after recieving help, you should be ale to learn as you go, but even i had to come back and question the saw 3. the first in... 6-7 months that i had to ask about ha, mostly because i only used fab, decrypter and shrink/nero. but hey, i got ri4m now and its great, i would just tell anyone who asks, or make a general thread, that like stays at the top like an announcement or so with all the progs listed and remind them to keep updating, that way no one will keep asking. if they do well then ignore em.

and trying hard for another. There's no new info to be added by this time unless Fengtao has their software updated. ;) Couldn't resist the humor. DVDIdle was the one doing serious catchup on this one.
I was going to try to make an interesting comment on the thread, but it's no longer useful. Saw 3 is old news. If anyone wants to know how, just concentrate on pages 10 through 20 and do a little reading (I included a tutorial with pictures about midpage on page 16 for RI4M). There's "how to" with AnyDVD and others. That's an old concept, search a little. No need to jump alkohol and the others for commenting on the need for newbies to just open their eyes and read. The past 20 pages has been nothing but comments on "how to" and a growing feeling no one is paying attention. I hate to think of the number of threads the mods closed just because the newbies wouldn't look at the top of the forum or search a little.
