Controller will not work in certain games

Not too sure where this belongs, but here it goes.

I have a modded v7 console, but I stress that I was having this problem way before I ever thought of modding it.

When I load up certain games, the controller does not work at all. None of the buttons have any effect, and the analog light will not turn on. Controller #2 does not work either. When I load up another game, everything works fine. This problem is game specific and does not go away if I reload.

Some of the games that don't work are:
Conflict Global Terror
Dynasty Warriors IV
NHL 2006
Incredibles 2

This happens with both originals and back-ups.

hey sly... yes I'm using an official sony controller for a PS2. I also tried a PS1 controller and a 3rd party controller I had lying around. What an odd problem!

Update:

I didn't fix my problem, however the PS2 seems to work with a second third-party controller in those iffy games. Guess the Dual Shock, Dual Shock 2 and original PS controllers are just not cool enough for my "My Little Pony" game.
