Hello,
i am thinking of buying a MOD chip probably the DMS 4pro or lite, for starters i was wondering whether its worth getting the pro as the only extra is the 2mb flash memory compared to the lite, but it seems the onnly advantage of this is for people that use homebrew software?? what is that? i am planning on just using it for playing backup games, so is the pro more worthwile investing in? also i have noticed a lot of V12 playstation owners have experienced there lasers burning out when they use a MOD chip, is this something that is very likely to happen to a V12 ps2 (slimline) or is there a way of avoiding it??

get the lite since you only want it to play games also, there's laser fixes out there to prevent your laser from burning out quickly. Even unmodded v12s have issues with their laser burning out.

NTSC DNAS threads.

I have the DMS4 E/Z/I Pro..and I love the fact I can put the Toxic O.S on it. Id go for the Pro cause you never know ...you may decide to "expand" your area of focus to a harddrive or homebrew stuff. Id rather have everything then be short, cause you cant upgrade modchips...your pretty much "stuck" with what you install...EXPECIALLY a SOLDERED version...I suggest you get the DMS4 E.Z.I like I have. Just my 2 & 1/2 cents.

Yes, for the very slight price difference i say you might as well get the DMS4 Pro
And with a V12 it is very important to also get a good laser fix.
The DMS4 Pro uses the ToxicOS which is a bit more feature rich than the ToxicBIOS that the Lite uses. Homebrew applications and hard drive features make up the majority of the difference, along with a built in cheat device on the latest release of ToxicOS Vo.41
there are also other helpful tools out there on the net that you can get that will work with the DMS4 Pro.
