i tried ripping a dvd....with smartripper..but there was no sound in the first chapter..then I tried with dvd decrypter..but again there was no sound in the first chapter ...others were fine..can some one tell me why...pleaseeee

Did you try watching .VOB files from HDD...and if so using what media payer ?

What movie is it out of curiousity because maybe another member here has had your problem on the same title..?

yeahhhhh ..i watched it ..and there sound ..but when i ripp .. no sound ..only in the first vob file though..the movie is 'All I Wanna Do'

have u tried watching it with something else?

ie; Power DVD, Win DVD , WMP etc etc...

yes..I have ..and still the same problem ...and like I told ..there is no sound only in the first vob file..the rest is fine ...

yeahh u r right...but i did not wanna waste a dvd r...itz not cheap...anyway ..i will try the first few chapters on a cd r...hope it will help...thanks..

My suggestion was to burn to DVD-RW (or CD-RW come to think of it...any erasable media tho)

it worked fine... and thank you again..now do u know any faster program than the tmpgenc to convert avi to dvd...??
