okay so i was trying to install a modchip in my ps2 via soldering and i accidently sodered some pins of a chip togather and i accidently poped off a little balck thing and then i turned on my ps2 adn the eject button worked but there was nothing on screen it was just black, can i just buy another motherboard and replace that and then my ps2 will work.

Well that's why there's a zillion warnings against trying to install a chip if you don't have excellent soldering skills. Take it to a pro and see what they say. You probably messed up an important circuit pathway on the mobo, the only way to know for sure is to take it to a pro.

here is a pci of a motherborad shoing wich points i've screwed up basically i either sodered these points togather or broke the litle black things of(i think they're called resistors) and then tried to soder them on unsuccesfully.

my question now is if i got another motherboard would my ps2 work fine or did i screw soemthign else up or should i just sell it on ebay as a whole
