audio/video sync great 'till last third of movie

I have a movie that works great for the first 2/3 of the movie but then all of a sudden the pixles flicker for about two seconds and then the audio is out of sync with the video. What should I do to fix this problem. I've tried using virtual dub and to uncompress the audio but that doesn't work. It is the source video that has this blip in it so is there some way to fix it. Thanks.
