Encoding movie takes forever

Whenever I encode a movie using shrink it takes forever. No matter what speed I select I only get about 300 to 400 kb/s rate of encoding. Is there anything I can do to speed it up without sacrificing movie quality? Thank you very much for any help you may be able to provide.

What's the compresssion ratio on the movies you're doing? WHat are the quality settings you've selected? If the disc is scratched to dirty it will increase the time. Is your DMA on? Check here:

Do you have a virus or mal/spy/adware? When did you last defrag? How much space left you got on your HD? What are you specs? If all else fails you can jsut reinstall Shrink.
