Taken from the main page over at tehskeen.

The Viper GC webpage is back online and now features the USB SDK for coders to work with. What is really discouraging is the fact that the USB interface is only USB v1.1 which means that even if hard drive implementation is created for loading images with they will suffer at slower loading speeds then the old and slow Phantasy Star Online booting method. This means most games would not be even playable at this speed.

The bad news doesn't stop there either. SoftDev has decided not to implement any kind of Hard Drive support for his emulators due to the lack of speed. He also assumes the specifications for the Viper GC Extreme's USB capabilities were held off from being released because of it's slow speed.

Additionally, maybe to cover up the fact that the chip only features USB v1.1 speed the Viper GC Extreme team will be producing a 24k Gold version of the Viper GC Extreme and will be limiting the production to 30 peices. I'll try to purchase one for review.

That's going to limit a lot of homebrew development for Viper..
