Hi all, here's my set-up:

Platinum Gamecube
PAL Bios Revision 1.2
DOL-101(EUR)
Drive Model 08 2002/23 (61)
Ridisc 8cm 1.4GB
Burned On: Sony DVD burners
Max Drive Pro
POT set to 210 (tried on 154, 170+ = no luck)
Tried: NinjaShell, GCoS and GCoM bioses

I am wondering what could possibily be the reason why my cube not playing back-ups, my cube when bought last week was in as new condition thus did not even boot disks except for SNES disk that i made, even then it would get stuck on please wait ... screen when loading a new snes rom from dvd.

As far as the real games go now they boot (naruto 4) but just when the fight is about to begin it freezes.

While i get message errors on my multi-game disk.

What should i do to increase my chances of playing without DREs.

Thankx

I have Xeno GC chip but can tell you the following from my experience...

Imgburn burns better mini's than Nero (much less DREs).

I had to INCREASE my POT from 210 to around 275.

I could never get the mini Ridisc (Infosmart Dye Type mine were) perfect, mini's would boot but DRE after 30mins+ of play.

I bought a full size lid, use full size Maxell DVD-R 16x (but burnt at x8 speed) bought from play.com and these are perfect. Not a single DRE even after like 4hrs+ play.

Hope this helps and gives you hope.

well in my experience with that sorta stuff i think the platnuim cubes are harder to soft mod... its something to do with thier motherboard it is a bitch to get burnt games to work with it, i couldnt evn get action replay to boot on it, but once i changed the motherboard from a black one i bought for spares it worked fine everything booted sweet, so thats just my experience with them and soft modding. good luck

@Stir_Fry: do you know where i can download the latest drivers etc. for imgburn if needed because the last two times i have burnt on sony writers using it, it does not even complete the writing to 100% coz it gives me an error...strange!

I have just downloaded ImgBurn v1.2.0.0, previously i had used the earlier ver so luck might change.

Thankx for your replies

--Edit--

BTW wat settings should i be using for when i choose to burn via imgburn.

That doesn't sound good about Imgburn failing!

I have always used Imgburn v1.1 as I hadn't realised v1.2 was out.

The default settings for Imgburn are the ones to use. Don't need to change a thing.

Have you got the most recent Firmware for your writer?
