Me thinks the laser has burnt out. If you are confident you can solder in
a new laser, take a look here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/309598/1800492-219624

It depends on what type of laser the new motherboard had, and what type of laser you have. If the new mobo had a 400R and you have a 400C laser then you will have a hard time getting DVD based PS2 games to boot, but CD-R games might boot ok. this also applies for the reveres situation, if the new motherboard had a 400C and you have a 400R laser then you will have the same results. To use the lenschanger app you will need a modded console that can boot CD-R's or the exploit to boot the lenschanger app from your memory card.

But if the laser matches the motherboard then you might have a bad laser like the above post stated.

Good luck

i have read at other place that i might have a different version of the lens that is why the motherboard doesnt detect it unless i flash it with the right one for that mobo. Does anyone know how to flash the laser lense?
