Hi, i'm new here and with a PS2, i got the PS2 Slim 3 months ago, and i wanna know what i have to do to play and backup games over a harddisk, i've been thinking maybe buy a USB Wester Digital HD with 320GB to backup my games and load it to my ps2, but i don't know how
i wanna know some things:
1 - i can buy any External USB HD with enclousure and fan, and it will work on the ps2 slim??
2 - how i load the games on the hd to the ps2??
3 - what's the best loader that i can use???
4 - how i backup the games to the HD, via the PC??? how?
5 - i can have multiple partition on one hd and it will work, because i want to have movies dvds and my games on 2 dif. partition???
6 - if real that i don't have to buy a loader instead of a loader i can use a ps1 game on the ps2 slim for load the games on the HD.

1) Yes you can do that but you will also have to purchase USBExtreme which has a very low compatibility with PS2 games, but it is an option. I doubt you will get near filling up the 320GB with how low the compatibility is.
2) there is an application that comes with USBEtreme that aids you in installing the games from your PC to your USB drive.
3)There is only one the official USBExtreme or the hacked ELF of USBEXtreme called USBAdvance.

5)No you wont be able to do that, not that I'm aware of anyway.
6)It sounds like your asking about the exploit. No you cant use the exploit with the slim PSTwo's.

can i play GT4 on the USBExtreme????, because that's the only thing i play, but my brother play lots of other games.
about the space i could us the extra space on the disk to backup DVD movies and record some homemade videos. so i'll give some use to it

If you purchased your console 3 months ago, the chances are good that you have a V14 console. If this is so there is no way yo use HDL/HDA with your console. Now if you had a slim v12 or v13 you could utilize the HD-Connect or HD-combo mods and use HDL/HDA or a DMS4 Pro with toxic OS to play games from a standard IDE HDD. But this is impossible with the V14 consoles and your only option is the poor compatibility USBExtreme. You most likely will not be able to do that because when you formate the HDD for use with the PS2 you are using a file formate consistent with ONLY the PS2 and windows or any other OS will not be able to recognize it. And no setting up a partition that is windows file format and one that is PS2 is pretty much imposable also.
