Yeah not to mention there is still one wire that needs to be installed I believe for booting PSX back-ups thus requiring you to open your PS2.

Well I don't play PS1 games on my PS2, but I couldn't find a solderless mod chip for my V4 no gap so that's why I found this mod chip a good option.

Pay a little more and get a quality solder chip like the DMS 4, Matrix Infinity, or Crystal Chip 1.1. Check the Modchip link in my sig for more info.
