I'm having a little trouble printing dvd's. I've read everyone's suggestions and still can't get it quite right. I have the epson 300r and ty hub printables. I've got it down to where it prints on the entire disc and not onto the tray. However, it still goes a little off the printable area into the silver/clear outer edge of the disc and the clear inner ring of the disc. Overall, it looks good but I'm wondering if this will somehow ruin the dvd? Or is it pretty much impossible to print it perfectly on just the printable part of the disc?

I have the inner set at 22mm and the outer set at 119mm. The ink goes a tiny bit into the silver/clear outer edge and clear inner ring of the disc. I'm wondering if this will ruin the dvd.

It shouldn't hurt it. I've fudged up a few of mine and they're fine!
I increase and decrease the inner hub depending on the cover but usually stick around 21 - outer I have at 119 always and never noticed it print over. Try going up to 23 for inner.

I just bought the same exact printer. Did not come w/ ink though.
Just ordered ink online. Next week will try it out.
So I'll be having questions myself on settings too.
What is GOOD media to buy ? I know TY's & Verbatims are best, but what work well w/ this printer ?
I'm looking for full face coverage on disk.
When media description says FULL HUB or HUB PRINTABLE,
does that mean FULL FACE ?

Damn the printer didn't come w/ ink? Hope you got a good deal!
Stick with the TY & Verb's - they also work well with this printer - I use both. Full face is hub/full hub printable.
Good link you give!

I increased the inner to 23 but I guess I didn't line up the arrows perfectly and a tiny bit of ink got printed on the upper edge and a white sliver is showing on the lower edge of the disc and hub. see this what annoys me. why should the success of printing a dvd come down to me lining up arrows? i know it sounds stupid, but I was off by a a tiny hair and the disc didn't come out the way I wanted. I might just go back to inner 22 cuz then at least the full disc will be printed on with no white showing. I hope the ink on the outer edges doesn't ruin the dvds.

How bout using these w/ the Epson R300 ?
Their full hub printable , no stack ring.
Supposedly the Verbatim printing surface is better than the TY's.
I've had much success using Verb's in the past(never used printable).
Much cheaper than TY's too.
Also what would the settings be ?

I use both - verbatim (non full hub) and TY printable (full face & non). The surface seems the same to me - both are matte.
The TY's full face are about the same price maybe a little cheaper - 42.99 for 100 - shipping including. Can't go wrong w/ either!

22 inner 119 outer prints on the entire disc but a little ink goes onto the then entire outer edge of the disc. 23 inner 119 outer is the correct measurements but it only works if the disc is lined up 100% perfectly. I tried it a couple times and was off by a hair and there was a white sliver of unprinted area on the dvd along with some ink on the outer edge of the opposite side of the disc.

Okay got my 50 pack of Verbatim Inkjet Printables, No Stack Ring also.
This discs look pretty sweet. Just put one into my Plextor Writer &
It recognized it as MCC Media, Is that good ?
these are the discs I got..........

Also what would be the settings for this disc, using the Epson R300 ?
Also, before I make a backup, should I print onto the disc first ?
Or backup, then print onto disc after ?

Yep MCC is good stuff!
For the settings try 22 by 119.
Always burn 1st then print to the dvd.
Make sure you clean the roller after each print by using the paper feed. One sheet will clean it off.

Thanks, you've been really helpful, on this subject.
You mean after printing onto disk, just feed a regular sheet of paper thru printer ?

Txs!! Yes -just a regular sheet of printer paper ran thru will clean the roller. I made the mistake of not doing that when I 1st got the printer even though epson recommended it. The next dvd looked pretty bad!

Okay got my printer , ink, & Verbatim full hub printables.
I haven't printed yet but,When playing w / the settings.
I can't get the image to fill the whole disc, in adjusting image settings ?
I download my images from.......cdcovers.cc.
Some images don't fill the whole disc cover in the setting option.
Is there a way to stretch image, to fill the whole cover of disc ??
Like I was able to do before using media face4 ?

I think I might have posted too soon ?
I clicked on the insert picture icon,
instead of the insert background, & it gave me the option to stretch image.
Does that sound correct ?
Again I'm using an Epson R300 printer.

As thelox714 said you just stretch it out. Keep what part of the image your want printed right at the lines. One other setting I increase is when you click print - for my ty's and verbs I do +1 under 'print color correction'. Just my preference but I think they look better w/ +1 instead of default.

First print came out pretty damn nice........
Did a black cover & no white was seen after printed.
20mm-inner & 120-outer settings worked fine for my Verb's.
Thanks all AD members that had input. maxxjulie, binkie & others.
Loading the tray was a pain though, followed directions just as manual said, & it kept spitting tray back out ???????
So I put my hand infront of tray so if it tried to spit back out it couldn't. That seemed to work.
Am i doing it wrong , ot what ?????

Glad to hear your 1st one came out good! You should see my first few :0) Make sure you have the white arrows on the dvd holder lined up exactly with the tray - also make sure the printer has plenty of room/clearance in the back of it.
