Ripping DVD VOB files for Xbox

I'm a newbie so I apologize ahead of time.

I have all my home videos in separate folders on my hard drive in MPEG format. I ripped them from VOB/IFO files which were on my DVD's burned by a Sony recorder. Ideally I'd like to find a way to play the entire movie (set of chapter files) without starting each file separately This is available on some media servers but I can't on the xbox 360.

How should I have ripped these, trying to keep as much chapter/fast forward information on the files for play in the xbox 360 extender.

Or is there a way to get VOB/IFO files to play on the 360?
