k, i know how to install xbox chips have done several with no trouble,,, just did a dms4 pro install on a v14 ps2. i have a gh-036-51, and on the dms site they only had an install guide on the gh-036-40. well it looked the same so i went by that guide. now when i put a disc in and cut on the ps2 i get nothing. a black screen. if i hit the reset button 2 times quick i get the regular ps2 screen, saying browser or settings. now if i put in a real ps2 disc it says no data.. if i put in the flash disc i have made it says no data, reading disc, or it will say please insert a playstion or playstation 2 format disc. any suggestions?

I've modded enough PS2s and XBOXs to confidently tell you without hesitation, just because someone is a pro XBOX modder doesn't mean they have what it takes to mod a PS2 in most cases, it's apples and oranges.....now with that said, I'm not saying your not able to do a PS2 install but with you providing the XBOX installs as a reference, it very strongly points in that direction.

anywho........when it does boot, do you get any on screen indications from holding the square button down? the select button?? any button??

i was using the xbox installs as a reference so it would b known i have some soldering skills. because apples and oranges as u say, u will have a working knowledge of oranges if u have made a pie with apples. it did nothing no matter what i held down. no matter traded the v14 for a v7.

I've never seen an orange pie myself. don't take it the wrong way but the old man at the radiator repair shop has been soldering for 60 years, that in no way contributes to his ability to mod a PS2, the XBOX is a radiator sized job when it comes to soldering, the contact points are easy to get to and easy to work with, the apples and oranges......but on to the problem at hand..with it giving no on screen indications with any button pressed, it is/was an installation error.
