I've been having problems burning vcd/svcd's on my matshita ujda720 burner at 8X and 4X (pixelation and image/sound breakup halfway through the movie), but VCDEasy or Nero won't let me go below 4X. Is there any way to force my writer to go lower to see if it solves the problem? VCDEasy has that option but even if I select it, it still burns at 4X. Any ideas?
Yeah - kinda figured it wouldn't, but I was hoping for a miracle. Looks like I'll have to buy a new burner (only to find out that that won't work either!) Thanks anyway Dela.
Many new writers don't give you the option to burn at slow speeds. Example, my Polaroid BurnMAX48x drive writes a minimum at 8x. <Same applies to many LG (Lucky Goldstar) burners, manufactured by Hitachi.

I reckon the problem you have is the media you're using. Low quality media can produce bad playback in a stand alone! Also check your standalones documentation to see if it has any limitations on what you can use!
Has nothing to do with media. As I stated in my previous post, newer burners gives you a minimum write speed and alot of these newer burners start at 8x (minimum).
