I used DVDFab then DvdShrink and when I burn the disc the Director's Commentary was playing instead of the words itself. I'm not sure why it is doing this so if someone could give me a hand I would greatly appreciate it thanks.

Try switching the audio on the player's remote or from the main menu. In shrink you can also uncheck the audios that you don't want - uncheck the director's commentary audio.

When I used Shrink I cut off all of the extras and just checked main movie and took off all audios and subtitles, on shrink it doesnt play the director's commentary but then when I backup it, it has the commentary on there so I'm just really confused on this because I've not encountered this before.

Then you checked the wrong audio.
In Shrink on the lower left hand portion. Hit the play button to play the movie, then right click over the movie and you will see the different audio options. The audio options are in the same order as in the right hand area of Shrink where you check/uncheck. Then click on each of the various audio options and you will hear what they are. Then go back to right hand area of Shrink and uncheck the audio that you do not want.
Good luck.

Which audio did you leave? The only one I left was AC3 5.1.

I kept AC3 5.1-ch English as well. gbmike must've clicked on the wrong audio.

Well, do you really need the Director's commentary? Did you checked or unchecked the Director's Commentary when you loaded or Open Files (your movie) into DVD Shrink? Look at pictures for reference.

I know what you're saying. You said you backed up the Main Movie and take out all of the audio, right? That's what you originally said. That's why I'm just showing you that maybe you may have "accidently" took out the main audio, which is AC3 5.1-ch English. And that is why when you played your backup, it's got the Director's Commentary on the Main Movie.
Like I said, the best way is to uncheck/take out all Audio, except the AC3 5.1-ch English and you'll be all square away.

Hopefully gbmike will post back and let us know which audio (s) they keep. But your right alkohol AC3 5.1 is really the only one you need.
Txs for more great pics w/ instructions!

I got the new copy of the disc to work, I'm still kinda new to this I've only done about 30 discs but I haven't gotten into the tech side of it yet so I appreciate the explainations from all of you. By the way this is off topic but if any of you like the old real ghostbusters cartoons a new dvd was released shortly ago, you can find all 3 on netflix. Once again thanks and I'll make sure I pass this advice to anyone that might need it.

I am having issues with DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15, it let me do as many Youra, Mine, and Ours as I wanted (5). It let me do 2 Pride and Prejudice. It even let me do 3 Ice Harvests. When I went to do Walk the Line I only got one rip. Help what is the problem?? Now it isn't even letting me rip old movies, it goes so far through the short analysis and fizzles out throwing up that an unexpected error has occured and it needs to close. I deleted and redownloaded the DVD Shrink it didn't help. Could the problem be AnyDVD running in the background? I am frustrated and have absolutely no clue on how to make it work again. Please help me!!
Cheers

AnyDVD doesn't conflict w/ shrink but you may have some other conflict going on. Try running a register cleaner.
Here's some other suggestions:
-do a system defrag.
- make sure your fans are clean.
- you may also need to clear up some hd space - remember shrink leaves the files on your hd - and if your not deleting them - your taking up a lot of space with all the copies you've done.

deedums35 this has happened to me a few times, usually after I have backed up a few movies. I am not sure if it is bad media (all I use is Taiyo Yuden), something internally running on machine during the back up, or whatever? What I do if this happens, is restart my PC and I usually don't have a problem with the burn again. I use DVD Shrink and/or DVDFab. That's my 2cents.

I am still new to certain technical aspects of a computer. How do I do a register cleaning? I will be doing another defrag tonight on my PC.
@dewras

You just need a program to do that. I use registry mechanic. The trial is good for 6 scans. Here's link:
http://download.com/3000-2094-10349249.html Just my experience w/ it - but it done pretty well at cleaning up conflicts.
Let us know how it turns out!

Hellow everyone,I am new to this site but have monitored it for a wile and i would like to say i have learned allot from all of you here and i thank you for that.I would also like to add to this thread that deedums35 posted about backing up walk the line or in fact any other dvd.If you used shrink or any other compression software, you only need to use it once. After that, you can burn dirrectly from the disc you allready backed up and no further compression is needed. Thus saving a unnesessary step.I have made all my copys this way and they are as good as the origional.just use any burning software you wish and scip the compression.Sorry, bad spelling.lol
