Hi,

I'm new here and have a question. First, I want to say, Thanks, for all the great info, you all have provided.
Now the question I have is:
I'm tring to write a software ISO file to a cd/r but Nero is telling me that the file is too big and ejecting the disk before anything happens. I've also tried using a dvd/r but it's telling me, it has to be written to a cd/r or cd/rw.

Any help is appreciated....Thanks, in advance.

Yes, it's allowing me to overburn. It's saying max. avail is 715mb, need 846 mb. It's also saying that overburning might make the disk unreadable or damage my writer. Is this really something I should worry about. Can I break the file in two parts?

a cdr 90 is rated to 800mb but it should stretch to 833mb there is a risk with overburn but hardware damage is rare keep your burn speed down as low as possible and you should get away with it
dont try to use a 700mb cdr in wont work
depending on what the software is you may be able to mount it in Daemon Tools and run the disk from there or copy all the files and transfer to a dvd
