I have looked everywhere for this answer, so I you answered it already. I do apologise. Everyone says to use TMPGenc to code then use Nero to burn. How do I get past Nero's encoding? Everytime I try to burn with nero, it encodes again. Also my audio and video out of snyc, is it because Nero is encoding my files? Any suggestions?

If you use DVD2SVCD (www.dvd2svcd.org) with TMPgenc as an encoder let it burn an image file instead of an mpg file (Select the CD Image tab in DVD2SVCD and check the VCDXBuild radio button).

Instead of getting an mpg file you'll get a *.cue file which you can then burn with Nero without the reencoding process. Once you've created the cue file, open Nero and chose File-Burn Image from the menu. The rest is pretty simple.

The problem is the file size - a VCD on an 800MB CDR will fit 80 mins (and a 740MB CDR will fit 74 mins). Not many movies are under these limits these days, so you need to split the file and use two discs.
You need to use TMPGenc's "MPEG tools" (under the file menu) to cut the file into two pieces that are each under 750 or 800MBs (depending on the size of CD you use).
Enjoy...

If you have already encoded this for VCD and it still wants to re-encode the file, click file - compilation info and unselect "create standard compliant cd"

I used TMPGEnc last night to encode. I took me 15 hours to encode one part of the movie. One reply to my original post said to split the files, but when I download the movie it already came in two parts. Do I split them into four then? After I encoded last night it went from 132,000 kb to 503,000 kb. Is that normal? I haven't tried burning it yet, but I looked at the first part of the encoded one this morning. It looked in sync so far. Another reply said if I use dvd2svcd, I can't use that cause my stand alone dvd player will not support svcd (at least thats what it say, but haven't tried it). One more question. When i use TMPGEnc, do i choose Vcd or Dvd under the wizard in the first part? Thanx again for your reply...

I'm having the same exact problem. Nero wants to encode the file AGAIN, after I already used TMPG to encode the file. I tried un-checking uncompliant CD and it still tries to re-encode the file. The movie is split into 2 parts and it easily fits on one cd, so I know that isn't the problem. Am I just doing something wrong or what? I dunno, please help! heh thanks!

lesndesi, if the movie is about 50 minutes long, then thats fine althoigh 15 hours is way too long for vcd encoding!! Also, if the avi was really that small then i guess it came from kazaa?? perhaps tmd?? eeewwww lol, sorry but i cant stand re-encodes if the quality was bad enough already!

enigma333, in tmpgenc, click file - mpeg tools. click the simple demultiplex tab and seperate the video and audio! then click the simple multiplex tab and multiplex them again as MPEG-1 VideoCD. It's likely that TMPGEnc fucked up writing the vcd headers, again!!

Thanx for the reply,

No I don't do kazza, too many viruses. Yes it was tmd on mirc. What is a good movie site on irc or where ever? I also can hook uo to ftp. They are encoding better now. It's taking me about 20 min a file.

I cant hand out anything like private ftp or irc channels! However it's quite easy to find what you want on irc if you use some sort of search!
