Hey, I know you guys get a lot of these threads but I read them all, and I cant find my problem. Ok, I have the Razr V3c. I want to send my own ringtones to my cell via USB. It loads the Moto Phone Tools fine with "V3C," but that doesn't have the Media Studios. I did the trick where you change it to V3CM. It will initiate just fine. BUT, when I go to the multimedia studios. the little cell phone icon at the system tray goes from green to white and it says "Modem Management Disabled" when I highlight it. When I try to transfer the mp3s (they are low bitrate/mono mp3, 200KBish) it says "Unable to Communicate with mobile phone." I dont get why the cell goes offline when I load up the media studios. I've tried the "File Transfer Studio" and the "PC to Cell" is grayed out, I cant click it. I have the most updated MPT too. Does anyone know whats wrong? Its weird, then after I exit out of the studios, the cell icon goes green then red then offline. And the "Motorola USB Modem" installed just fine. No "?" or "!" Blah...can anyone help me ? thanks in advance.
(I also forgot to note that I just bought the phone today and been trying to figure out what was wrong all day today)

Did you find anything out about this? I had the same problem. What is weird is that it was working 100% perfectly about two weeks ago on my old V3C, which I lost. Now when I try and use the new replacement V3C that Verizon sent me, it does not allow me to transer files in Multimedia Studio anymore...even after I reinstalled the phone as a modem and re-installed the phone through phone tools (and did the V3CM trick)

I have the same problem, I have uninstalled the phone and reinstalled it several times. I'm wondering if it has something to do with charging the phone and trying to upload or download files while it is charging. Even after the phone is fully charged, Phone Tools still says that it is unable to communicate. Maybe if it is possible to stop the phone from charging it might work properly. If anyone has any ideas, your help would be really appreciated!

yeah...hmm... i haven't post in a long time but yeah, i fixed the probably for v3c. I believe the swapping of files for the razr has been disabled (i am not sure if its the actual model or the phone company (mine is Verizon))
I just changed the firmware. Now, Motorola Tools work for me. I can transfer mp3s from PC to phone now.
I cant remember how to do this, this was shortly after i made this thread, (so it was a long time ago lol..)
sorry...

thats what i meant,
after i changed the firmware(to altel), the multimedia studios worked.
i know what u mean..that was my problem....
connected to multimedia studios fine (green light), but when you try to send files through multimedia studios, the connection goes dead.
however, i have no clue how to fix it without changing the firmware on the Vc3,
i regret buying the razr since the new razr came out with more features...lol

what version are you using and do you have the drivers for the razor?
i've had that problem before and what i did was download the deluxe version and it works fine.
i could be wrong but give it a shot.
