crmac--
I also have Sonic Record Now so when I saw your question, I did a little research--I have occasionally used Record Now to burn movie disks and have had no problems--according to Sonic--"Record Now" will attempt to burn the media at the fastest speed possible for your burner and media--does not sound great to me, but I have had no problem--I currently use Nero or DVD Decrypter which both allow you to burn at your own selected speed--4X being the preferred maximum for movies to reduce chances of errors--hope this helps--

I have Sonic Record Now! It came on both of my systems.

But like the old addage goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Record Now could be the greatest program ever created to burn DVDs, but I wouldn't know because I stick with Decryptor to burn (after using Shrink, DVDFab, VOB, or even Decryptor to rip).

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

No need to buy Nero--you can download DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn--they are both free--I use Decrypter often for burning--just do a google seach and get these programs--at the bottom of my sig there are 2 places where you can get them--good luck

If you have problems with Nero, it can be rehabilitated! All you need is a valid serial number. Uninstall what you have, use the Nero clean tool, download the latest update (packages 1 and 2 will be enough), use your valid serial number, and you're back in the Nero business!

How are ya'll burning the DVDs? As data files? I have Record Now 7.3 on my PC and tried burning 2 different disc, first using DVD Shrink and then burning the Video_TS files. It appears that neither my PC nor the stand alone DVD player will recongize the disc now.

Any suggestions?
