Ah, of course.
My purpose is twofold.

1) My Olympus digital camera makes nice .Mov's which I convert to SVCD .Mpeg's with Tmpgenc then to .bin's with VCDgear and burn with Burnatonce, so I can send family movies to relatives. No problem here but if there is a direct way from .Mov to .Bin I would take it since VCDgear pixel-ates somewhat.

2) I have been getting a kick out of downloaded commercials which come in .mov, .mpeg, and .wmv and would love to burn them onto a SVCD or DVD to send to my brother but I can't figure out how to do it. Avi2dvd will turn the .wmv's nicely into ISO's, but it keeps giving me this problem with .AVI files (from .mov) that I convert with Tmpgenc; http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/312340 . Brother, I am stuck! If it will help you help me, you should know that Tmpgenc is generating a 140mb Avi file from a 2mb .mov.
Thanks!

That error means that there is an error in the Header of your AVI file...It has somehow Gotten Corrupted Through Downloading or something else....

You can Try Fixing the File with a Tool Like "DivX-Fix" or some other Video Fixer Program....

Also you Don"t have to Make a Bin/Cue or an ISO file First to Make a VCD/SVCD, You can Use a program Like Nero to Just Burn the Mpeg-1/VCD or Mpeg-2/SVCD File to CD-R in VCD/SVCD Burning Mode....

You can also use a Program Like "Ulead DVD Movie Factory" to Put the Mpeg-1/Mpeg-2 Files on to VCD/SVCD with Menu"s and Chapters without haveing to Create a Bin or ISO first....

Also Usually Pixelation on Playback of VCD/SVCD"s is usually Caused from Burning the Disk too Fast Or from Useing Too High of a bitrate, To Solve this Problem I just switched over to Burning My VCD"s and SVCD"s to DVD that way I can Fit up to 4 Full VCD Movies on a Single DVD or up to 3 Full SVCD movies on a DVD-R and without the Playback Problems and without haveing to Re-encode the Files to DVD Format....

Cheers

Maybe I'll try the DVD route exclusively as well then. Prices are such that they don't cost much more than CD's anyhow. But I think the pixelation is from VCDgear...it only occurs where I have made Tmpgenc do an edit.

Buggers! The wife isn't going to put up with me shelling out more cash for software right now. So much for Ulead or Nero.
I'll have to stick with Shrink, DVDDecrypter, and Burnatonce for now.
