OK my problem is basically this...

When i back up a DVD with shrink it will not automatically start the burning process with Nero. i have never had this problem before and yes I have enable burning with nero checked in the Shrink option menu.

Now this normally would not be a problem since i should be able to take the files shrink made and burn a new compilation in NERO. But I was hoping someone knew something i didn't about why Shrink won't automatically burn.

Welcome.

Chances are you updated to nero6 version 6.6.1.4 (the latest version), if so, this version of nero will not autoburn if used with DVDshrink.

If you want to use DVDshrink's autoburn with nero function, you'll needed to revert back to version 6.6.0.18.

If you want to keep/use version 6.6.1.4, you'll need to burn with nero manually.

If reverting back to version 6.6.0.18, uninstall nero from your system using the nero general cleantool found here:

http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/Nero_6_CleanTool.html

Next, install nero6 version 6.6.0.18 packages 1 and 2 found here (re-enter your nero serial#):

Package 1
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

Package 2
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Maybe it's only me, but I've never used the "auto burn" with Nero. I've never used that mode and never will. I've noticed tons of Newbies are having trouble with this "auto burn" mode with Nero. Whenever I used DVD Shrink (once in a while), I've always have DVD Shrink save my VIDEO_TS file into my hard drive first, then I'll burn with Nero Burning Rom (manually) afterward.

However, the choice is yours!!

@Alkohol, why is that? I've heard some people doing that before but I paid no attention to it. What's the downside?

The downside, maybe just not being able to choose the actual burning speed?, other than that I can't really think of a downside. I have mine set to auto burn so I can just pop a disc in, and walk away from my comp... -shrugs-

I have Shrink set to autoburn with Nero and I can set the burn speed, no problem.
I open Nero manually at times as well, just to press the buttons and drag things around. The results are the same, either way.
