I have a Movie on my Hard Drive and i am pleased to say it runs perfectly when i play it using Cyberlink PowerDVD .

I put this same movie onto a DVD and it starts off playing perfectly from the DVD on the same computer, but after 10 or 15 minutes it goes very jerky coming to a standstill and i find it has usually frozen my computer, GGRRRRR.

what am i doing wrong ??, i thought i might be able to slow down the burning from 2.4x to 1x but it seems to be locked on 2.4x, which is of course the max speed of the disc, i have now only got one blank Dual layer blank disc left and i am running out of ideas of what i can do !!!!.

PS. I would love to be able to try it on our DVD player but my missus, oop's sorry better half !, always wants to watch the CRAP offered on TV !!!

perhaps i should be using a NERO alternative ?

TIM

thanks qwendolin, i shall try a later version thanks, as for the media, i panicked a bit and went to argos and got them, the only other place i get them from is a computer fair that comes around my area every 3 or 4 weeks, i can get ritek (for example) for £2.50 each, but could i ask the best make and where shpuld i get them from, i guess mail order is the only alternative.

Hey guys, hope you don't mind if I put in my 2 cents worth.

If burning to dual layer media, I would suggest using DVD decrypter to get the job done instead of nero6. Nero is an excellect program/package, but when it comes to burning to DL media I think it sucks and doesn't do the job correctly (hope the latest nero7 version is better).

@timmytoad
You can have shrink create an ISO image file to be saved to your HDD and then manually burn to disk with decrypter (not a fan of autoburning, usually more reliable).

OR

If you already have the video files on your HDD, use folder2iso to convert the files to an ISO image and burn to disk using DVD decrypter.

Here's a step by step guide, you can also get the free apps here as well.

Try for this, uninstall your current version of Nero, run clean tool
http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/en/Clean_Tools.html
to remove all fragments and the re install new version from the link I provided.

Did you know that you can fit a normal movie onto a standard DVD5 without having to revert to pyrchasing DVD9 which are as you say really expensive.

Get back to if you're interested.

thanks a lot lads, that is most helpfull, as it happens i did show the files to dvdshrink but it couldnt shrink them enough to fit a standard size dvd.

i shall now have to get some more DL disc's from somewhere, LOL.

but i certainly have a lot of options open for me when i have another go, thanks again youre a great bunch.

Tim, out of curiosity, how big is the movie?
It must be HUGE if DVD Shrink or Nero Recode wont look at it.
