Hi,
I have major problem with installing Windows XP Pro on a new SATA hard drive. The problem is that every windows cd i have tried does not autorun even though the first boot devise in BIOS is set to cd drive. The cd works fine on my other pc. I have reset the CMOS on the mother board but still no luck. The only cds that do work are the FreeDOS utilities cds. The hard drive is already formated in NTFS with 20 GB free space, and still windows will not autorun. I do not have a Floppy Drive so cd drive is the only way to install Windows.
Does anyone know what the problem is? Or another way to install Windows?
Here are some details:
Motherboard: nForce 4 GA - K8NF-9
Processor: AMD 64 Athlon 3200
Hard Drice: Maxtor 300GB SATA
CD Drive: TSSTcorpCD/DVDW TS-H

Thanks in advance,
Superdem.

ok... the only thing i can think of is download a boot disc for Windows 98 with CD driver also u can try gettin a boot Disk drivers for WinXp but the 98 version will do the job fine...

http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

Go down too Win98se OEM

Download the files and then put the files on one floopy disk which will make that disk bootable and then when u boot off that disk it will give u CD Rom support and u should b able to install windows from dos

Good Luck and Keep me posted..
