Free iPod Video Converter locking up

Hey. Free iPod Video Converter keeps locking up on my computer. Friggin crap

So I've got my DVD files ripped to the hard drive. I'm following the afterdawn guide (which is very nice) but when it finally starts encoding, it locks up after a couple seconds. I've tried tweaking the bit rate on the video and audio, I've tried converting a different file, nothing. Same problem

I've got an AMD Athlon 2700 and a gig of DDR ram. I can't think of anything that would be locking this thing up. My home computer isn't connected to the internet at all, so no viruses or spyware. No crazy junk clogging up the compy. I keep this system clean, and things don't normally lock up on this computer

It doesn't freeze the entire computer, just the program. (I can force-close the program and start it again)

Any ideas? Is this an Athlon problem?
