I am a new user of NERO & when trying to copy a DVD with Nero ver 7 I keep getting an error message ?This DVD is copy-protected and cannot be read?. On looking at the Nero Log I also noticed another error message ?(KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST)?

To assist, I have included a copy of the Nero Log

Nero cannot backup protected movies, you need to use a program first that breaks the encryption. You can rip to your HDD using the free program DVD Fab Decrypter you can get it here

Then you will need to use Nero Recode to compress your video file to size and then burn with Nero.

Here is a guide that shows you how to use DVDFab, VobBlanker and Nero Recode. It is good to know about VobBlanker in case you have movies that have tough encryption.

You're are trying to burn a copy of a copy protected DVD and Nero won't let you. You must first rip/decrypt the DVD video files to your hard drive, then use Nero to burn them to disk.

You can use first:
DVDshrink
DVD decrypter
DVDFab decrypter
Anydvd with DVDshrink or decrypter
