Hi guys, im new here and sorry if this has been asked before. I just got a dvd burner, the sony dru-500ax , and i also got the dvdx copy. I was wondering, could you only make copys of dvd movies using the rw disks? That is all i had success using so far. Any time i tried a dvd+r disk the write process failed. Also I didnt realize how much of a memoryhog dvdx is, until i installed memturbo, it dropped all the way down to 4m of ram, but i set it to recharge when it gets that low and i had not had a problem since!! The brands of dvd rw's that i tried w success so far were sony and memorex. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

My advice is to use Ritek disc's with the deep purple dye as well priced and great success rate.
I also have dvdxcopy and have since moved to using first dvd decrypter theb dvd2one and then nero 5.5 and have no problems.
What media you use is vital you should also play films all the way through as sometimes they can hang 3/4 the way thru just in case you make more than 1 backup.... if you know what I mean.

PS when using dvdxcopy leave your pc alone and shut down internet and screen savers and basically anything not in use then make a cuppa or interfere with yourself or something till its finished
