Hooking up the Cyberhome 1200 to Record from VHS

I have followed the instructions that are given to me on the screen on how to hook up the DVD recorder to my VHS that allows me to record from VHS to my recorder however no matter what I do, when I believe everything is connected correctly and I try to record all I get is a message saying "video signal is unstable" What does this mean and how can it be corrected?

Could mean that the VHS is not tracking correctly or the signal is poor.
Can you record OK from another source

I assumed that the unit was connected correctly. Does the VCR and TV have three RCA jacks for input and output If so, A simple connection is from the VCR, RCA Output jacks to the 1200 input Jacks, from the 1200 output jacks to the TV. All units must be power on. If one or more devices have only a RF connection you may have a bad connection or a tunner not tuned to the proper channel, [or a bum tunner]
I had a 1200 , and it was a good machine I had no problems with the tunner but a lot say it is a bummer
Remember that on the 1200 the source will defalt to DVD if a DVD is played or if the unit is turned off You have to reset it to the source you want

If you continue to have prolems take it to the vender it was purchased at and have them record something from the different sources.

I Understand the solution about the A/V cables being hooked up from the VCR to the DVD and from the DVD to the TV. The problem is that they have to be connected some from the back of the devices and some from the front of the devices. Do you remember how you connected them?

Input to Output to input, etc. It makes no difference if front or back. You just have to select the proper input source for the specific device. There should not be a problem if the equipment is working ok and connected as I said in the previous post

I don't think many are using the front jacks for this kind of connection.

Again are the connections RF or A/V jacks

I do remember. I don't believe my setup for video/Audio work, would relate in this case
