There's a riddle for you sports fans ? Why are DVD+R's more expensive than DVD-R ? keep in mind I'm taling Apples to Apples here! Same speed same Maker - not OffBrand Dvd+r versus Taiyo Yueden or Verbatim ? Just wondering I've learned many ,many things about the Dvd tech scene here & somebody's got to know right ? Okay thanks in advance & happy Burning!

Well here's the converstion I had w/ customer service at supermediastore.com
Me: Hello I'm just curious but why is your +r media more than your -R when instore it's the same price?
CSR: I really don't know
Me: Can you ask someone there if they know? Just curious.
CSR: Okay let me check (puts me on hold for a few minutes)
CSR: The tech support guys said it's a better format - that's why.
Me: There is that agruement but instore it makes no difference - why online?
CSR: That's all I really know.
At that point I didn't feel like dragging it out so
Me: Thanks

I have to subscribe to this thread BIGTOXY69. I've been dying to hear the answer. That's a load of BS with the higher prices on line for the plus format.

It's probably one of those questions like: What is the meaning of life, LOL

I should have pressed the issue but wasn't in the mood to deal w/ more idiots that day. Nothing against +r - use it too but that's not the point.
Maybe someone else has called another good online co. and see what they say. I may call back just for the hell of it and give them a hard time to get the 'real' answer.

i would say it supply and demand ,there probably footballing the dash format(not making much money on it) and making up with the plus format, kinda like the grocey stores jacking up prices on certian things to make money and giving away certain products ,same with blank media. its all MARKETING !!!!! GUYS

aabbccdd- That sounds highly logical and well thought out ! But I still can't see why DVD+R should be more expensive online where you normally are buying in Bulk ie: 100Ct. or higher Than when you buy local/ retail where most people ( not us right ) are buying maybe in quanities 0f 25-50 ct. You would think buying online /bulk would net you a better price? yet the price is higher online for the DVD+R's . At retail DVD+R or DVD-R same prices go Figure ! I use both DVD-R & DVD+R but being I bought a BenQ & now can booktype I've been buying mainly DVD+R media lately ! Perhaps there are'nt as many companies putting out DVD+R media ? anyways friends thanks for the input & happy Burning Ciao!
