If enough people by garbage media and tell their friends, you get a business that will eventually stop producing media! I introduce you to TDK. :) The sad part is they probably will just rebrand CMC Mag's! I don't know which is worse.

I found the TDK DVD-R 8X discs to be of reasonable quality while the DVD+R 8Xs were crap (coded CMCs)..., so probably won't be any great loss for the media world...

Just a question for the afterdawn.com readership ! Do you think anyone actually pays the Inflated ( non- sale) Price on retail spindles of Branded media ? I'm sure they catch one or two peoples unaware every now and again but I never actaully see people buy Media -atleast not Dvd media unless it's on sale ! Even Crappy off -brand /noname media 's non sale price is stratospheric ! If you wanna burn you gotta learn ! Or you'll get burned ! financially wise anyways !Just wondered about all that Kudos' all & happy burning !

hi,

ha! i agree with you...at bestbuy a 50 pack Phillips even costs $40 not on sale. You have to be stupid or just don't care to buy at that price.

And that's why you see BB's sale roataion- sale veryweek on DVDs just diff. brands.

Unfortunately, a lot of consumers are uninformed about DVD media quality. They either buy whatever brand carries their hardware's name or whatever is cheapest at the time. I have informed the occasional person that I've run into as they chose Memorex or HP, etc, but they insist that they need to purchase whatever "matches" their hardware or whatever brand they used to burn CDs with no problems. About half the time, they will listen, and, if they do, I happily steer them to AD to keep on top of the latest; whether it be media, hardware, or software related...
