let this be a lesson to you never have anything done by anybody abroad unless you know who they are,
and just take it to the pros to have the chip taken out and install a new one, but i think you should get the dms4 pro.
try http://www.teammodders.com
id recommend them theyr good value for money they also have installation pics on their website if you wanna do it your self

yes you can simply remove the wires from the board, but i suggest to do it gently. if it is the ps2 slim console, dont remove the other smaller chip one the bottom left which protects the lens.

Hi Im a bit unsure of what your asking if u can load new software to the infinity(or clone) the very fact that u could do that is telling u the MOD chip is working. U said u were playing with the functions of the infinity I would suggest uve turned it off & it needs 2 get turned back on. If u can remove the chip I would suggest SwapMagic instead of any of the other mod methods as it is cheap & doesnt require any mods to be done to your PS2 It is a boot disk that allows u 2 load ur games from software. They work great. Type it into google or on this site. Good luck

sure u could do that so long as u make absolutly sure u insulate properly. Of course this is assuming that the chip is at fault (not so common) it is more likely to b the wiring from the chip 2 the mb itself that is the problem, Mind u im guessing. Pulling the wires off the chip is as good a place 2 start as any. Dont give up if that dont work is all im saying.
