I just modded my ps2 version 4 with matrix infinity chip. When I powered up the ps2 the screen constantly jumps. I know there's nothing wrong with my tv!!!! so any ideas what i may have done wrong. I hear the sound of the main loading screen although games do not load when i have tried them. Do i need to adjust the voltage or something! Please, any one who has previously had similar experience would be most helpful,

i do not understand what you mean by jumping, but maybe the BIOS wires need a little fixing.

If i were you, i would remove everything to see if it still works as normal. if it does, i'll do a neat remod, this time keeping the wires shorter and neater.

thats how i got my first few installations working(although i changed chip for most of them), since i had no experience whatsover and only read off the net.

Hi Ive done many mods & in nearly every case u turn it on & something doesnt work. I suggest u check every connection 2 the M.B. from the Infinity (with a mulitmeter) this is 2 check 4 continuity. I u fail 2 find the suspect connection (& believe me u have at least 1), check the names for each connection. Find the 1 u think is most likely i.e. something 2 do with video. Now remove 1 by 1 the leads & check if the ps2 boots this way u can eliminate each connection point without having 2 rework the whole chip. If u r not sure of what ur doing de-solder the whole thing check 2 c if the ps2 works then either restart or give it 2 someone who CAN sus the problem.

thanks dix_fix! Most helpful info. What chip do your recommend best to use at the moment - in terms of value for money and reliability - i know modbo is cheap imitation of infinity, but many have had a few probs with it. Saw someone who was alot more experienced than me and they gave me few tips as to why i may have such a problem. Such as using too much solder etc. Thanx anyway,
