Hello folks,

I've been using Shrink for many years now and NEVER ever come across this error message before, the DVD I'm trying to copy is an old UK TV series called LOVE HURTS. I firstly DVD_Decrypted to my HDD, (noting that there was NO encryption), then tried to backup full movie in Shrink, only to get the above error message. I then tried the latest version of CloneDVD only to find out that there's 3 versions of EACH of the 4 episodes, 2 have the same time/length and 1 shorter. I then tried selecting the longest 'section' of each episode along with the appropriate menu, letting CloneDVD do its thing then burnt to a RW, the result was crap when viewed on my 42" Plasma.
What I really want to know is, are these 'sections' in anyway 'interlaced' as a copy protection.

Did you use the re-author mode with shrink and use the preview window? I don't use CloneDVD so wont pretend I know what I'm talking about there, sounds like you had a problem selecting exactly what you wanted to re-authoring. Or it could just be you used crappy blanks to burn, maybe at a speed faster that you should.
Try re-authoring with Shrink first and see how that goes, dont think anything is interlaced like you ask.

I know it's an old show but is it a new DVD? If so, it's most likely an encryption. Most of the new ones have similar error messages.

Since you didn't mention AnyDVD in your post, I would suggest that, then DVDFab, and then VOBB.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie
