My two different Cubes give different results!

Hi all, i first owned an black GC with PAL revision 1.0 with drive 04. I had quiet a few back-ups to try on that cube and the thing to notice was that w/o the laser tweak it mostly ran Naruto and Paper Mario for 20+mins but due to me using the pen method to remove security screws i messed it up so i had to exchange for another one and thus not being able to do the laser tweak on that one.

The one i have now is silver GC with PAL revision 1.2 with drive 08. i tweaked the laser on this one and using the same games it does not even load the back-ups as well as my old cube.

I want to know if changing the cube will change my luck coz as methioned above my old cube ran back-ups for some periods of time while w/o even the laser tweak and now my new cube can not even run the same games for not even 5 mins.

I had thought that laser tweak would have fixed my prob but it did not have such an effect.

Please tell if i should change the cube or not?
