Showtime stopped playing certain avi's

Nero showtime will play some avi's, but won't play others that I'm sure it has played in the past. I have recently cleaned up my machine uninstalling certain audio and video tools, but when this started happening, I uninstalled Nero totally, used the General Clean up tool, and reinstalled. Still no playing of the said avi's. Any ideas?

you may need to run your file through avicodec and then from there it will tell you what codecs you need to have on your pc to run the AVI as when you did the clean up you may have deleted them
