this is what i get on disc throughout the whole movie after using anydvd, dvd shrink and dvd decryptor.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/rickster7mag/HPpics001.jpg

system specs:athlon 64 x2 4200/sapphire PC-A9RD480Adv pure crossfire advantage mobo/ 2 gig corsair twin x pro/plextor 716A & 708A DVD burners/sound blaster audigy 2 zs/ati radeon x850 xt/2 x maxtor 120 gig sata drives (raid 0)/ 500 watt antec power supply/ linksys wmp54g wireless adapter/ tsunami dream liquid cooled case

both drives work fine and make perfect backups using the same 3 programs if i put them in my wifes computer.
and i wasnt sure if this could be a compatibility issue with the radeon express 200 chipset and plextor drives but if anyone else has these problems or if there is something i need to change in my bios or settings, any suggestions would be much appreciated. oh and btw the audio has alot os skiping also.

I have seen that in 2 different scenarios through my learning process.
1. Too much compression and/ or editing of the movie through the main page (instead of re-authoring).
2. Bad burning media / too fast burning speed.
Do you have the original file on your computer? Can you say OK, it works on my machine, but when I get it to my TV it dies?

Yes, the original file is on my computer and the backups ive made all look like that on my computer and on my television.

I?ve tried more and less compression, Lowered the burn speed, tried using different media and all my backups look like this? now if I put the drive in my wifes pc and my fathers pc the backups come out perfect. I just want them on my machine since mine is the fastest.

I?ve tried both drives on the primary and secondary ide channels and both are set at udma. I?ve tried making backups on a new install even before any windows updates or service packs have been installed and I?ve even tried to make a backup without the motherboard chipset drivers installed. and still nothing!

one thing i did want to try is find someone with a different brand burner and see if that works, think my brother uses a pioneer. but if anyone has any other suggestions i would be much greatful

Roxio and Nero are known to step on each others toes, I would ditch Roxio...but you are not me. Do you have a Nero log for us to look at?

Buggy, unproven version...revert back to 6.6.0.18 here:

Not recommended at all, just take it step by step. Rip->Transcode->Burn...you will be a much happier camper.

This is for a CD burn, a failed one at that...try the earlier version of Nero and see if there is an improvement. I would rather look at a DVD burn log.

It?s been awhile but what I did is went over to my brothers house, installed his pioneer dvd burner into my computer ran the same 3 programs and made a perfect backup. I couldn?t find a pioneer at a reasonable price so I found a good deal on a Samsung lightscribe burner. And it works perfect with my motherboard and makes perfect backups. I hated ditching plextor for another brand dvd burner. But I had already exceeded the time in wich I could return my motherboard to the retailer.

There are too many issues with the radeon xpress 200 chipset and very little support with few to 0 bios updates.so, in the meantime I?ll just have to wait for a bios update from sapphire and my wife is gonna have to enjoy the plextor drives in her computer

Had the same problem with mine last week. I bought two spindles of 100 DVD-R's from Comp-USA on sale $19.99 per spindle. Great deal, except the first spindle was all white laquer fronts. They all burned great, no problems and perfect backups. I broke open the second spindle to find they were are mirror front. They work fine in my AMD machine with the HP 740i, but in my Pentium machine with a Plextor PX 712A, I got the same exact message. Every burn would go to 97% then crap out. I googled the error message and found out the writer does not like Mirrored media. I changed the media to laquer front and guess what. They all burn fine. Go F-ing figure!
