hello i have a major problem and am about to whipe windows and reload if i can't find a solution....this is what is going on as far as i know.....it was been acting up alot lately so i flashed to the newest firmware(i have an optorite dd0401 f/w=160E) i intstalled ashampoo's powerup xp platinum 2 to see how well it worked and if it was worth it...well i didnt care to much for it so i pulled it off last night...ever since then the dvd drive doesn't work what is going on i got about 15 or 20 minutes left in me before i wipe so someone please help

you can probably get away with just uninstalling your DVD recorder and then reinstalling, something could have gotten uninstalled that your drive needs to function..
