Welp, the movies are backing up smashingly. But I can't burn a cd :( With this new-old nero, is there a best way to go about that? Thanks in advance for your time.

Is it a burn failure? Post your last cd Nero logto see if we can sort this out - they can be found here:
nero 6: program files>ahead>nero>nerohistory.txt
nero 7: program files>nero>nero 7>core>nerohistory.txt

If not a burn failure what's happening?

If you have the Nero package then you should have Nero StartSmart.

Open Nero StartSmart, select CD



Click on make audio CD and you get this



Locate files (from ADD) and then continue to Burn

Can you back up a step? Where do I find the program files in order to find the log? I have Nero 6

Gwen, when I do those same steps, the drawer opens and closes asking for a blank. I have tried several of them and then it locks up and i have to get out of the program.

You have Roxio installed, it doesnt get along too well with Nero so I would recommend uninstalling it and running this Roxio zapper and then try again

Gwendolin, I deleted my camera already. I can run the program you have there, but since my dvd burning is working now, isn't there something else I could do? I miss my camera program a lot already :(

It sure is (few of them actually :)- take Nero back a version to 6.6.0.18 - this same error happened w/ another prog -shrink and this version so maybe a problem w/ cd's too.
Uninstall - run the clean tool then reinstall from this link:

Your firmware on your drive can use some updating too - the latest is BYX5. Here's link:

I did that, ran the clean tool and installed that version of Nero. I also ran the Roxio zap program and deleted what i could find of Roxio. Still, no luck. :(

Well I'm racking my brain on this one - TRF errors have something to do with tranfer layer componet missing that is needed to burn, swap file or not enuf space & I'm sure there's more. So let's start w/ some of these -
Have you ever been able to burn cd's? If so what changed on your pc since then- maybe a program removed or installed, new hardware etc.
You do have Nero set to CD right?
After doing all these uninstalls or installs you've rebooted right?
How much free space is on your hard drive?
You were getting this error b/4 InCD was installed but you can try uninstalling that and running that clean tool. Here's a link:

I want to give up on this one. Nothing seems to be working and I have lots of room on my drive. I dumped a lot trying to get Nero to work at all. :(

Well at least you can burn dvd's with it - so there's a + :)
You can always try burning cd's with real player (free version) or windows media player - I use both of those also.
