Of course I have a computer or I would not be here but please bear with me. This is my first post and I am very much a newbie!
I was wondering if you can convert vhs to dvd without a computer??? Is there a free standing device that can do this easily?? Something that you can put the vhs tape into and a blank dvd and it will copy it????? Maybe this is a dumb question but I need something easy.
I am also in need of converting old 8mm's to dvd but think I will need to do that professionally and from what I am finding it is costly. We have a lot of old family 8mm film on reels and did not know if anyone knows and inexpensive way to convert those with the volume of them that I have. Thanks
If it is allowed please send reply's also to my email:
jon_cheri@kaltelnet.net
Thanks for any help,
Cheri

8mm film is outside my experience, but converting old VHS to DVD is as easy as pie using a DVD recorder. It's just like dubbing from tape to tape, you are just going from VHS to DVD.

Yes you can Simply use a DVD Recorder and if you Later want to edit the Footage you can Rip it to your PC and then Edit it and Burn it back to DVD as you can"t do any real editing on a DVD Recorder...

Thank you both for your replies. I will be visiting EBay for a DVD recorder.

BTW there are DVD recorders out there that let you edit your footage. Not sure how advanced this gets, but some have hard drives that you record to, then edit, and then burn to a disc.
