Hi to all!

I'm new to modding, but after reading a bit on this forum, the picture is getting less fuzzy. BTW, thanks to Tokijin for the great FAQ.

Just wondering, does anyone have any info/comments/opinion on the Ghost2 chip? Looks kinda cool, but is it any good? If not, I'll be left with 3 chips to choose from, without being afraid of making a bad choice.

Also, my PS2 is a v4 and I think the laser is thinking about retiring soon. I'll probably get a slim PS2 (used) as a replacement, so a chip compatible with both versions would be nice.

there are less people using the Ghost 2 chip compared to DMS, MI and CC. Since they are only a few dollars apart, why dont you try the more popular ones, since more people can discuss about it.

i have come across positive comments on the ghost chip, so i think its generally not a bad chip.

You won't make a bad choice if you go with one of the big three. Let's put it like this, if I didn't have one of the big three chips, I'd go with the Ghost 2. It's based on the old Messiah 2 code, and for the most part seems like a decent chip. I've yet to talk to a modder that would rate it with those three. It's about the same price as the "big three", so there's no real reason to get it over any of them. Thanks for the compliment.

Thank you. A lot of people think they know a lot about modchips, but really have no clue. It's a common thing on this site and others. I know a fair amount, but I'll be the first to admit there's a ton I don't know. Guys like Davbere and KC36330 have forgotten more about the PS2 than I'll ever know. Cheers!
