My d pad is not responding at all. Alls I kno is while I was playing mega man x (the snes game), i started having problems dashing. I was like wtf. But then after a few moments i was able to dash again. And then i could't move at all. My dumb ass just turned it off thinking it would be ok if I took a nap. I woke up and now trying to navigate through the shell menu i still have problems pressing the right button and to make things worse pressing down almost never works.
Don't tell me I am going to lose my 1.5 =(

dont know if this will help, but maybe you could try getting a new faceplate and set of buttons for your psp?
ceramic white psp v1.5 with lotsa tricks :)

Naw I did't do anything to it. Truth betold I don't play any strenuous games. But to be honest, I was playing frogger last night and that requires you to continuously tap a direction, but I wasnt and never really did any hardcore gaming(like fighting games and such). So idk whats wrong with it. I don't want to send it to sony and they said well your psp was outdated so we updated it for you as common courtesy.

lemme make this clear tho, the up and left button work fine, its the right that doesnt work, choppy and the down that almost doesnt work at all...

Dude i surfed the crap out of ur problem and couldnt find a solution only to return it to sony, apparently the Japanense got offered a free replacement because of this problem but other than that...if its out of warrenty try opening it up and see if theres any dirt or muck built up round the buttons.
Myself i always wash my hands before using it or my controllers for fear of this very same problem occuring.

they will exchange you no repirs, well thats what they done to me when my psp stoped charging, What you do is easy mate, exchange it(which you'll then recieve a 2.01 or 2.5), then sell it on ebay, then buy a 1.5 with the money u just gotta have paitience, its exaccally what i done, and now i have a 1.5 back !

it sucks tho, its really a girly/kiddy game...
But anyway thanks sudds, you helped more than you thought.
When you said lift up the faceplate and see if any dirt is stuck under there, It struck a thought. I don't have a screwdriver that could get the screws out, but i thought maybe there might be some dirt under it after all. Its just like if you guys have computer mouses with balls you kno that after a while you can have problems sometimes because of dirt. So I started blowing air out my mouth and on to the d-pad like hell. I blew for about a minute(its a long time to be blowing air). I felt all light headed turned my psp on and sure as hell the d-pad was working.
So thanks,and problem solved =).
If sony said send it back i wouldnt been like f u. I woulda sold this one on ebay and used my other one lol.(yea i do have 2)

it makes sense that this happened, cause usually i keep the psp in the pouch even when charging but for the past few days i left it out on top of the dresser next to my bed and out of the pouch, so i guess it collected dust...
i do need a can of compressed air, my keyboard on my desktop is starting to look real bad...
