im currently using firmware 2.6. installed it cos i needed it to play Initial D Street Stage. anyone has any idea wad can i do to my psp, so that i will be able to download games and play on my psp? so far, i've only heard that the older firmwares allow downloaded games to be played. anyone can advise? many thanks in advance!

You are sort of right.
1 older version can play psp isos(back-up to legit owned games). Its firmware 1.5 and only 1.5 that can play isos.
However if you get a 2.0 you can downgrade it to a 1.5. 2.0 and only 2.0 is the only downgradable firmware thus far, so don't listen to otherwise.

thanks man. but i dun quite understand the things that are written on that thread. lol. so ultimately, version 2.6 cannot play downloaded games? or is it that after i follow the instructions of that thread then i wlil be able to play?

2.6 cannot play downloaded Psp backups
2.6 can play downloaded snes, genesis and gb/gba gamesa at laggy speeds sometimes

As I said in many other threads, I have found the MSloader 2.5f and 2.5e working on BA, haven't been able to load anything yet (or tried for that matter) but it's a step.

In order for the ISO,s to work on higher firmwares they have to get access to kernal mode, at the mo this is not possible with the GTA exploit as it runs only in user mode, and there having a hard time accessing kernal as we speak, so it will be along time.
