I think you need something like the magic actuator for silver one as its got a metal plate next to the hinge blocking up the gap where tool goes.

V14 slimline ps2's can be done without voiding your warranty and the metal thing doesn't stop you at all. I've just done my v14 ps2 with some wire and tissue/paper method. Look at Magic Key II and get the idea how it works. Then use paper and tissue method for the two rightside switches. For the last, leftside switch use just some hard and thin wire. Mess with it a little and you get idea how to place it. That's how i did my v14 ps2. I shall post guide soon!
