Link is here http://psp.ign.com/articles/696/696052p1.html

" Sony's Ken Kutaragi continues to drop PlayStation Portable news during the company's PlayStation Business Briefing 2006 as he's just announced that the PSP will see "E-Distrubution" features added sometime in the future.

Users will be able to boot software directly from their Memory Stick, all official-like this time around (you know what I mean). The first major announcement for use of this will be a series of PSOne games - yes, you will be able to download classic PlayStation titles and play them on your PSP. No word yet as of whether or not you'll be able to transfer games directly via disc or not, or which games we should see first, but more news on this as it comes in."

-IGN

I definitely give props to Sony for this one. Can't wait.

They more than likely would scaled down versions, biggest ad say might be 500mb, which would push people out to buy more mc,s.
Sony aint thick when it comes to consumers.

normal psone games were aroud 600-700 MB but some games were like 4 cd's like legend of the dragoon and final fantasy. so maybe they might find a better way to do it rather than force everyone to get massive memory sticks

Sony should have done this ages ago, well its most likely going to make you update to play it but the good thing is, if their already is a way to make the ps1 emulator work on the new update , then theirs a good chance that one of the psp hackers will find out the sources or find out how they let the ps1 emulator work on the new update and build from their and get things going, but still , some props for sony....

its me again, since their is probably goning to be a update so you can play the ps1 emultor, doesn't that mean that we can play all homebrews and if not its still good cuz it will probably get hacked.

i doubt sony will want this and will try to not leave any gaps in coding for exploits.

But OMG the thought of being able to play Crash bandicoot 3 on my psp is giving me wood.

Good point matt!
Which is why I am sure that they will be selecting games that will be playable on the psp amongst the games that they are choosing for this archiving service

Bout time they do something smart, this could make me upgrade to 3.0 anyday.

Steps to bricking a PSP:

1. Get a brick
2. Hit the psp with it untill it won't run any longer

Congratulations, your psp is now bricked.
