I'm able to start a ping of my xbox and I get a few timely replies but then all of a sudden they start timing out. Same thing with flashfxp. It connects and I can explore the xbox's folders and even transfer but only for about 10 seconds after booting to the dashboard. Neither pinging or ftp'ing will work again until either I wait like 10 minutes or reboot the xbox. It seems that something is closing the connection that I don't have control over or something. My comp ip is 192.168.50.45 and the xbox's is 192.168.50.3. No firewalls running. Thanks. So far I have been trying to figure this out for a couple days and have found no info on this problem whatsoever. I've also reformatted the hd like 5 times with slayer's autoinstaller thinking that could help.
I don't have it turned on to show the connection in the tray. I could turn it on and check but I'm not sure it would show much. The xbox is hooked up through a basic linksys router (model BEFSR41). I also get my internet through the router and it stays constant. I suppose I could disconnect the incoming connection to the router so it is just the xbox and computer and then check it out if that would give any information. Thanks for your help.
to me it looks like a firewall is blocking your connection but since u saying that u dont have firewall thats wierd as The Return said. go to your Windows firewall and Antiviruse and allow FlashFXP to access your pc just incase.
I don't know what this means but I changed the the last number of the ip and it is working now. (from 192.168.50.103 to 192.168.50.193) I don't know why a particular ip gave me those problems but somehow it did. (Windows firewall is disabled and I've never used it or configured it in anyway and there I have no antivirus program on my computer.) If the problem comes back or something I'll update this thread and say so. Thanks for the help.
