Can't play DVD-R on PC or Standalone after burning!

I have burnt a movie using DVDXC ver 1.3 with no problems whilst burning, but on playback on both PC and standalone it will not recognise the disc i have tried both standard and alternative formats.i am using a Pioneer 105 516 RAM, intel4 2.8. Am i being completely thick here or is this a common problem?

Did you do anything different to the usual way you back up a DVD-R..?

Thanks, just tried DVD-RW discs and my PC and standalone recognises them however the discs cost an arm and a leg does anyone know of DVD-R's which are compatible with my Burner?

I have used Ritek G03's with my Pioneer 105 they are the ones with the purple back. They're not too expensive and they work on both my Xbox and PS2. BTW its much more common for a stand alone to be able to read DVD-R than DVD-RW

Never had a problem with Datawrite Classic 2x in my A05. But can't really say that the Datawrite Yellow have caused me problems either.

Indeed. I have had no problem with Bulkpaq Purple [budget media]
But I'd imagine some might...
