cant load games after flip top install

just installed a flip top on my ps2 slim, now when i put a game in nothing happens. the disc wont spin and can't load the game. any suggestions?

Make sure that the disc is not getting caught on a little peice of plastic that sticks out so that the disc wont jump. It has to go under it. O its ont the top of the cd if you look straight down at it.

Also the flip top lid is poor quality and is too flimsy, so most of the time both buttons that is needed to be pressed down in the front of the PS2 wont be pressed down all the way. so unless you close the fliptop tightly then those buttons wont be pressed down all the way. I think its the left side that i had taped down cuz the lid bends... gotta go check.
