Go into device manager/cd-dvd rom drives-open up the tree/double click benq 1620/click drivers tab/uninstall drivers/ok/and reboot.
Then see if she'll recognize your media.
Your 1620 should at least recognize dvdinfopro and dvdidentifier. I've got 2 of the 1620s myself, and one of them I have to uninstall drivers and reboot every now and then.
Maxell and sony +8x are some of my main brands. Sweet media from both the japanese and taiwanese batches on the plus format.
Have you tried uninstalling the burner completely then re-booting and letting windows go through it's detected new hardware routine? I had to do this with my BenQ.
Only does it on the dash format ? Very odd,but my benqs do perform better with the plus format.
No problem for me with those brands either in the dash format. I do stick with the plus format so I can booktype my backups.
Tell us the brand name and speed rate of those dash's,and the same for the plus's. You said they were 8x in your opening post.I just wanted to see if anything changed.
Hi
yeah they are Maxell and Sony DVD-R 8x's
Picked up some cheapo memorex +Rs just to see if it was the burner dying or whatever and they worked fine
I guess I was wrong about being able to burn them(the -rs that is)....all my drive does is flash green a few times and then quit......I can burn +R Media though and read the -R's that I have burned in the past
I have used about 25 out of the 100 pack spindle of the Maxell DVD-R disks and then all of a sudden they stopped working
