As far as volume, I have been very happy with this phone. I have never used the earbud, but the speakerphone is excellent as is the handset volume. Now I'll have to check out the earbud just to see.
To connect to a P2K or Midlet manager software, I HIGHLY recommend finding a copy of PST 6.7 or later. Once you have that installed, and running, the other programs connect quite easily. I battled with connecting to my phone for days without it. I had installed the MPT and that worked great, but none of my other programs would work and installing drivers manually for that thing just isn't an option when you have no idea which driver it is trying to install and it refuses to pick one automatically. Once I installed PST, everything works great. Now when I want to use another program, I open PST first, let it establish a connection, and then I open whatever program I want to work in.
The only problem I have had with connecting now is that I have not been able to view the system folder to download files from the phone using P2KMan or any other P2K software. I eventually didn't need to do this at all since I found an easier program for modifying menus (enabling web sessions was my main goal so that I can use Opera Mini and Google Local on my T-Mobile phone). The program I used for this also works for installing JAVA midlets from a desktop. I apologize that I have not yet had a chance to list all of the programs I was able to connect to the phone, I have to be at home to get the links, so I will still do that.
If anyone knows much about P2Kman, my problem is that it displays the folder listing on the left, including the system folder, but when I click on a folder no files appear on the right. Any ideas on how to fix that? I have connected with P2K Tools, P2K Man, P2K Commander, and a few other less known applications, so I know the drivers are right.
